Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Elementary District 181 in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, has expanded its Safety Officer Program, now involving three police departments to provide daily officer visits to all nine schools. Jeffrey Alstadt, the district spokesman, highlighted the program’s flexibility, stating it allows for additional safety measures during emergencies. The officers focus on monitoring safety protocols, responding to threats, and enhancing security systems. Police chiefs from Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, and Burr Ridge expressed strong support for the initiative, highlighting its role in fostering trust between law enforcement and the school community. They noted: “The school safety officer program has benefited our departments and the school district,” underscoring the collaboration’s importance in ensuring student safety.
