Bible in every classroom: Walters’ goal

Oklahoma’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, Ryan Walters, is pushing to place a Bible in every school, viewing it as a crucial “historical document” for students. He stated, “Parents are excited to see the Bible back in schools,” emphasizing its role in American history. Walters has allocated $3m from his budget for this initiative and plans to request an additional $3m from the Republican-majority legislature. He believes that this move will help combat “woke” curricula and provide students with a deeper understanding of the nation’s founding principles. Walters noted that the presence of Bibles in non-parochial schools was once common, and he aims to revive this tradition. He anticipates that other states may follow Oklahoma’s lead in this educational approach.
