Argyle ISD board backs May bond election

The Board of Trustees of Argyle ISD has voted to move forward with a bond election for a package totalling $423m this May, including the $394m Proposition A, which includes funds for land purchases, new schools, campus improvements, technology upgrades and school buses, and the $29m Proposition B, which includes Argyle High School and a new baseball and softball complex. Superintendent Courtney Carpenter said rising student numbers mean projects need to start soon, commenting: “If you look at all the projects that are in this bond package, this proposal from the committee, everything falls in the next five years of needing to purchase land or starting the project. Because it’s a three to four year process on building anything new.”
